Emulators are the go-to option for anyone interested in playing mobile games on PC. And if you're someone keen on bringing mobile games onto the big screen, you'll be excited to learn that Google has released the Google Play Games beta for people to try.

The Google Play Games beta is an alternative to emulators, which you can use to play some of your favorite Google Play games on your PC. Keep reading to find out if the beta is available in your region and what you’ll need to get started.

Google Play Games is an application for Windows 10 and 11 you can use to browse and download Google Play games on your PC. You can use your mouse and keyboard to play some of your favorite games and keep your progress across multiple platforms with your Google account.

And while syncing your progress is a great feature, putting Google Play Games on your PC also removes some of the frustrations of alternatives. For instance, you'll no longer need to set up an emulator from scratch; Google Play Games does all the heavy-lifting for you.

Accessing the beta is easy. First, head to the official Google Play Games beta website. Next, download the installation file. Wait for the download to finish and run the file. It should then start downloading the program onto your computer.

Once the installation is finished, run the file. A window should appear requesting that you log in to your Google account. If you live in a qualifying region, you’re ready to start playing! Keep reading to find out if the beta is available in your area.

If you live in one of these countries, you have full access to the beta. If you don’t, you can install and use a VPN to download, install, and run Google Play Games on your PC. However, you can’t use your Google account to access the beta unless it’s from one of the participating regions.

There’s another requirement, though. According to Google, you have to check your computer's hardware specifications to access the beta.

Currently, the beta is restricted to 5 regions. However, Google plans to expand to other regions in Q3 and Q4 of 2022. Given Google’s history, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a global launch reasonably soon.

You can expect at least 40 games with the Google Play Games beta. This includes titles like Call of Duty Mobile, Stumble Guys, and Candy Crush.

While Google Play Games isn’t bringing anything new to the table regarding tech, it’s a platform that might be a bit more convenient than alternatives like BlueStacks and NoxPlayer.

If you don’t live in a region that currently supports the beta, you might have to turn to Android emulators to play mobile games on PC. While they’re from different companies, you can still play quite a few games from Google Play on your computer.
